The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, took part last night in the official reception on the occasion of marking the 16th anniversary of the Independence of Kosovo organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in London.
There, in a solemn ceremony, with many guests from the diplomatic choir, government authorities and representatives of various international organizations accredited in London, as well as our compatriots, in the premises of “The Royal Horseguards”, Prime Minister Kurti had a speech.
He said that London is an excellent place to celebrate Kosovo’s independence, being the capital of a friend and partner country and a staunch supporter of our independence.
“Among the strong calls to stop the genocide in Kosovo, the United Kingdom was one of the loudest and strongest voices. In 1999, support for NATO’s intervention in Kosovo was higher in percentage among the British than in any other NATO country,” said Prime Minister Kurti.
In this ceremony, there was also the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in London, Ilir Kapiti, who spoke about the role of the diplomatic mission of Kosovo in London, the ties between Kosovo and the United Kingdom, as well as the further advancement of cooperation between Kosovo and the Kingdom of United.
The appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, also addressed the participants.
