Prime Minister Kurti welcomed the new ambassador of Austria to Kosovo, George Schnetzer

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today welcomed the new Ambassador of Austria to Kosovo, George Schnetzer.

He welcomed Ambassador Schnetzer. As he emphasized the excellent relations between the two states and peoples and Austria’s continuous support for Kosovo, he offered the ambassador close cooperation in further deepening the relations between Kosovo and Austria.

The Prime Minister especially thanked Austria for the support in the field of security with over 600 troops within KFOR in Kosovo and for the 14 programs of the Austrian Development Agency, among them the one in the field of education and professional training, where the government has taken this year to 12 the total number of dual education profiles based on the “Ausbildung” model from four in the previous year.

Ambassador Schnetzer expressed his gratitude for the hospitality he received in Kosovo. They talked about the positive trend of trade exchanges between the two countries. Kosovo’s exports to Austria this year have increased by 71.7%, while those of services by 120% compared to last year. Meanwhile, direct investments from Austria in Kosovo in the last two years have increased by 11.6%.
The new ambassador of Austria in Kosovo highlighted his interest in engaging in the field of cultural cooperation.

The meeting also discussed the current situation and recent developments in the country and region.
