The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Ceku, and welcomed by the mayor of the Municipality of Podujevë, Shpejtim Bulliqi, participated today in the laying of the foundation stone of the Multifunctional Center in Podujevë.

Prime Minister Kurti said that this center will help young people to have suitable spaces for their activities, and that the Government has started a reform for the youth in Kosovo, which is expressed not only in the new law and in the state strategy new for the youth but also with these physical infrastructures like this today.

According to the prime minister, our commitment to youth should be constantly expressed throughout Kosovo, and that there are already several such centers in various municipalities of Kosovo, including Mitrovica, Pjetershan, and so on.

Today, the Prime Minister said that they are doing the same in Podujevë, which has an excellent youth and which deserves more. “Therefore, we will do our best to repay her so that the benefit for the youth itself, but also for the state and the future, will be as great as possible”, he said.

Meanwhile, the mayor of the Municipality of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, after thanking Prime Minister Kurti and the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çekun, for the visit and this investment, said that the value of the project is about 1 million euros and is co-financed by the Municipality and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.

“This multifunctional center, which in total covers an area of about 1450 m2, and which from now on will serve our youth, for the reason that until now they have developed their activities in a hall, a sports gym in improvised conditions and I believe that with the construction of this facility for these young people, much better, more suitable conditions for work will certainly be created, without also abstracting the various NGOs, which operate within our municipality, where they have then access and the opportunity to jointly carry out their own activities”, added Mayor Bulliqi.

The multifunctional center of Podujeva costs close to one million euros and will have four multifunctional halls, an amphitheater, a space for public events, a meeting hall, administration, and warehouses. The duration of the works for the realization of this project is expected to be 26 months.

One of the peculiarities of this investment of great importance is the design conforming to the needs of adequate access and mobility for persons with disabilities, to ensure that no one is deprived of the services and opportunities that this center will offer.
