Skopje, 22 January, 2024

Good morning to everyone!

We are here today in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, at the invitation of Prime Minister Dimitar Kovaçevski, in this meeting where the six countries of the Western Balkans meet the European Union for the Growth Plan. From Brussels will be Mr. Koopman and Makovec, while from Washington DC will be Mr. James O’Brien. So, Brussels and Washington together with the Western Balkans in Skopje for the economic growth and not only of our region.

The values of the European Union must be reformed in us, while the support of the European Union must also be financial. The Growth Plan means 6 billion euros for our region, in which case the amount of funds received depends on the good work we do and the successful performance we show.

Today, the Republic of Kosovo will submit the list of reforms discussed, while in the following days we will also submit the list of indicative projects. As for the reforms, there in the center we have the reform of the public administration and the management of public finances, while among the projects we have those for the green agenda, digitalization, investments in the private sector and the narrowing of the infrastructural gap.

On this occasion, I would like to thank the European Union, the United States of America and North Macedonia for this very important meeting, which will enable more regional cooperation, but also a more accelerated progress towards the European Union, which is also the goal and our destiny.

Thank you!
