He thanked everyone very much for their commitment, and wished that this program would be a valuable experience for them, from which you get a lot in addition to giving to society and the state, and why not one day to state institutions with ranks as well and more advanced positions and functions that they can carry in the future.

There are close to 250 young people engaged in various central institutions, who follow a paid internship for six months, within the “Government Internship” program.

Prime Minister Kurti’s complete speech:

Dear young women and young beneficiaries of the “Government Internship” Program,

Dear Ministers, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Deputy Ministers, MPs,

I am honored to welcome you today in the Government building, here on this platform that we call the “Open Balcony”. So a balcony that does not close, but is always open for young men and women and for you as beneficiaries of the “Government Internship” program. This program has brought together young women and men who wanted to contribute to the public sector, to the democratic state of Kosovo, and represents a journey not only for our government, but also for you in your profession and careers, in the contribution and your advancement within the public administration of the Republic of Kosovo.

We believe that building an effective, accountable and citizen-oriented public administration is not only a desire, but also an obligation. Therefore, your presence here is a reflection of our commitment to inclusiveness, as well as the belief that young people play a key role in the development and democratization of our country.

There are close to 250 young men and women engaged in various institutions, from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice to the National Gallery of the Ministry of Culture, the Food and Veterinary Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture.

You are the proof of desire, will and work for a better Kosovo for everyone that leaves no one behind.

Thanks to the “Government Internship” Program, the Government of Kosovo has never had so many interns. Someone can call us a government of interns, but it is about good interns in good practices, democratic governance and an increasingly advanced state. Of course, above all, first of all, it is about a will for new and different practices that lead our country to where we want, that is, to economic development, to democratic progress, to Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Our government has two main foundations, justice and employment. Employment, women, and you as youth are our focus. We have undertaken and implemented numerous employment policies during these two years, from the “Government Internship” program, to the wage subsidy to employ women, wage increase subsidy, wage subsidy for workers who have no employed family members , to the newest youth support on the Superpuna platform.

Superpuna is a new approach to sustainable employment that is proving successful. To date, from Superpuna we count nearly 13 thousand young job seekers, with over 7 thousand active businesses, as well as over 5000 young people employed through this platform. So, the public sector on one side, the private sector on the other, have come together to find jobs for young people. The regular and continuous monitoring of the scheme ensures not only transparency, but also that the private sector offers a dignified job to our young people.

I believe that many of you, as seen by your young age, at the end of this practical experience, will be able to join the Superpuna platform, continuing your professional growth and development.

I thank you very much for your commitment, and I hope that this program will be a valuable experience for you, from which you also get a lot in addition to giving to society and the state, and why not one day to state institutions with increasingly high ranks advanced positions and functions that you will have in the future.
