The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was welcomed last night by compatriots living and working in Slovenia.

He expressed his gratitude for their commitment, work and contribution to Slovenian society and to their country of origin, Kosovo and Albania. On this occasion, he emphasized that they are an extraordinary economic, cultural and trade bridge between our two countries, the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Slovenia, a friendly state and people to Albanians in general.

“We never forget the role that the Republic of Slovenia has played, from sheltering dissidents and persecuted Albanians in the 1980s and especially in the 1990s, to their role in the liberation of Kosovo and then for recognizing Kosovo’s independence and for our support in the international arena whenever the need arose,” said Prime Minister Kurti.

Prime Minister Kurti also spoke about his government, highlighting some of the main achievements and policies in the last four years. Among them, he highlighted the fact that we are the first government to complete a full mandate, as evidence of institutional stability in Kosovo, which is an important factor for both economic growth and democratic progress and for the security of our country.

The Prime Minister called on our compatriots to continue registering online as part of the population census until December 31, encouraging them to also declare the damages, suffering, and losses they have experienced as individuals and as families in the last war in Kosovo, as for the first time, the registration of war damages is being carried out at the state level. He also called on them to register online to vote from abroad so that they can benefit from the facilities offered by the new law on general elections, namely voting in embassies and consulates and voting by mail within the country. The deadline for this registration is until December 26.
