Before the meeting with the mayors of the municipalities, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, visited today the Tourism Information Center and the Mill Complex of Haxhi Zeka.
At the Tourism Information Center, Prime Minister Kurti talked with the representatives of non-governmental organizations benefiting from the Kosovo – Montenegro Cross-Border Cooperation projects, which is a program within the MLGA. Also, he met the tourist operators of mountain tourism and the representatives of the Tourism Office in the Municipality of Peja.
The meeting discussed the possibilities and offers of mountain tourism in Peja, the impact on the development of the local economy, as well as proposals for institutional support in the tourism sector.
During the visit to the Haxhi Zeka Mill Complex, the importance of protecting cultural heritage monuments was emphasized. The Prime Minister met Mr. Fatos Lajçi, Executive Director of the Environmental Responsible Action Group (ERA Group), which manages this complex. In addition to the details of the operation of the complex and its tourist potential, Mr. Lajçi also informed the Prime Minister about the activities and commitment of ERA Group in the protection of fauna and flora in Accursed Mountains.
In these two meetings, the willingness of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to increase the joint commitment in the service of new tourist products, which would include the most important tourist assets of our country, was reiterated.
