Prime Minister Kurti visited the “Mother Teresa” Humanitarian and Charitable Association

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, today visited the “Mother Teresa” Humanitarian and Charitable Association in Pristina, which was founded in 1990 with the aim of providing assistance to families in need heavy economic.

For more than 30 years, the Association “Mother Teresa” has been engaged in the implementation of Mother Teresa’s own mission, helping and caring for the poor and those in need, thus managing to provide various social services to thousands of citizens.
During this visit, the Executive Director, Zef Shala presented the work and projects of the Association as well as the commitments of its regional offices.

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo has increased the budget for subsidizing Non-Governmental Organizations that provide social services to 1.5 million euros for this year, where 41 NGOs have benefited from this scheme, and one of them is the “Mother Teresa” Association with the regional project “Dignified old age” in Prizren Municipality.

Through this project, the elderly are offered social services in their homes. The Association’s mobile groups of professionals provide a large number of social services, including some basic medical services.
