Gjilan, 29 March, 2023
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, today visited the “Hello Academy of Education” school in Gjilan, where he was welcomed by its two directors, Florian and Hysnije Kurteshi.
Initially, the Prime Minister visited the students of a lower cycle class, who also demonstrated their skills in the subject of mathematics in front of him. Then, the director of this school informed her about her work, the history of the institution she runs and the engagement of the children.
The school “Hello Academy of Education” is the beneficiary of four measures of the Government, measure 1.3 for supporting the employment of women, the Package for Coping with Inflation for subsidizing the salary increase for private sector workers, the scheme “Government for the Family” and now recently of the guaranteed employment scheme for young people through the “Superpuna” platform.
From measure 1.3, 18 women were employed. Through the “Government for Families” scheme, 5 people have been employed. 16 new workers have been engaged through the “Superpuna” platform. Meanwhile, a total of 90 people have benefited from the salary increase within the Package for Dealing with Inflation.
Prime Minister Kurti expressed his satisfaction when he meets the beneficiaries and sees the direct benefit of the government’s measures and support packages for citizens.
Thanking them for the invitation to this visit, the prime minister said that what you do in this educational institution is a noble work not only for the present but also for the future, because learning in early childhood is crucial for learning and later education as also for the professions that these children will have tomorrow and for the jobs and workplaces and the contribution to society that they will make.
He said that language and mathematics on one side, drawing and music on the other side, and nature and society, which are big fields, which the children learn and study together in this school, will be decisive for what will be our economy, our society, our culture, but also our education.
The school “Hello Academy of Education” has been operating since 2010. Initially, it started education with the age group of 6 months to 5 years, while from 2013 it started with the pre-primary group, i.e. the age of 5-6 years, with an educational program, based on the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation. In 2017, the kindergarten “Hello” founded the 9-year school “Hello Academy of Education”, the first in the municipality of Gjilan. The school now has an area of about 4,200 m2, 40 classrooms, a computer lab, a chemistry, biology and physics lab and also a physical education hall, for 639 students and children, with 90 teachers of which 90% are women, and 22 persons as technical staff.
Prime Minister Kurti’s complete speech:
Dear director,
Dear teachers,
Dear students,
It is a pleasure and an honor to be here with you today at this children’s academy, which you organize with great effort and sacrifice, but at the same time with dedication and pride.
As we saw from the presentation of the director, the leader here, a lot of work has been done and also I thank you for your gratitude, for the support we have given them, because it is also very valuable for us when we concretely understand the benefit it has had someone from the measures of various economic and educational packages that we have given.
So Superpuna and the Women’s Employment Support Measure, as well as the increase in wages, as well as the “No family without someone employed”, all of which have been reflected in your team and we are very happy about that. You are doing a noble job not only for the present but also for the future, because depending on what kind of education we have, there we see what kind of future we will have.
Learning in early childhood is crucial for later learning and education, as well as for the professions that these children will have tomorrow when they grow up and for the jobs and workplaces and the contribution to society that they will make.
Language and mathematics on the one hand, drawing and music on the other, and nature and society, which are large fields, which children learn and study together, will be decisive for what our economy and society will be. ours, our culture, but also our education.
As you are teachers and support staff, you are also aware that a significant number of these children will likely one day also become teachers, support staff in schools or elsewhere, and teach children who they haven’t been born yet. This is how planning is done and how the vision for both democratic and socio-economic progress is built and developed.
Once again, I thank you all, each and every one of you
