Peja, 22 July, 2023

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today paid a visit to the city of Peja.

Prime Minister Kurti began his visit at the National Judo Center, where he was welcomed by the President of the Kosovo Judo Federation, Agron Kuka, and the champion team of judo players. In this meeting, they presented to the Prime Minister the project of expanding the National Judo Center as part of the “Kosovo, State of Judo” program. The government is investing in strengthening judo domestically and promoting it internationally through maintaining and further increasing the results of our judokas.
Prime Minister Kurti made his next stop at the Ministry Tower, which has a unique architecture and style, and which is being restored in cooperation with our international partners, to continue to the Long Bazaar, which, despite the massive destruction by the Serbian forces, has been rebuilt. And then, the visit continued to the hundred-year-old shop of the razor worker Musa Gorani, which has been restored and functional thanks to the direct support of the Government.

Prime Minister Kurti concluded his visit to the city of Peja with a visit to the “Jusuf Gërvalla” Cinema, where he met with the leaders of Anibari and the International Animated Film Festival, which, according to the Prime Minister, occupies an important place in our art scene by promoting our diversity and culture through animated films and many other programs. The 14th edition of the Anibar festival is taking place from July 17 to July 23.

During this visit, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Taulant Kelmendi and deputies Gramos Agusholli, Fatmire Kollçaku and Ardian Gola.

In these two years, numerous restoration projects have been developed in the region of Peja and we are working to turn this potential into welfare for the citizens.
