Suhareke, October 15, 2022

As the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, we will stand behind our plans and for your needs, to build necessary systems and services that support the well-being and development of all our citizens, said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, at the festival “Suhareka unites us”, which is dedicated to people with disabilities.

On this stage of the festival, where artists and singers from the Republic of Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia performed, Prime Minister Kurti said that the guarantee and advancement of human rights is an essential issue in itself, but also a driving force for a fairer society, and more successful.

For more opportunities for everyone, for equality, and not to leave anyone behind, we have declared the year 2022, as it was said here, as the year of disabled people. Although it is our daily and permanent commitment, during this year we have worked harder, better, together, for a society with opportunities for everyone, he emphasized.

Therefore, as both central and municipal institutions, let’s stand by each other to be together, because Suhareka unites us, while solidarity equalizes us, said the Prime Minister.

Speaking about institutional support, the prime minister singled out the support for training programs for athletes, with 100,000 euros of annual support for the Kosovo Paralympic Committee and 40,000 euros for the Sports Federation for the Blind, the implementation of Measure 1.6 of the Economic Revival Package, the employment of assistants for children with special needs, and also for the community of blind people, he mentioned the work for the creation of Vocal Synthesis in the Albanian Language.

Inviting everyone to increase efforts to build a just society, and together create a future with greater opportunities for everyone, the Prime Minister said that we should help the most and first those who they have the greatest needs.
