Dragash, 3 June, 2023

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, visited today the segment of the Plavë-Sharr road, the paved road at the entrance to Dragash, and also met the Mayor of the Municipality, Bexhet Xheladin and the municipal officer for communities and return, Uzair Hamza.

In his speech, the prime minister thanked the citizens of Dragash for coexistence there, but also the mayor, as well as all the political parties who cooperate and in this way enable the good life.
“Dragashi needs more investments and that’s why we are trying to build as much infrastructure as possible. We will also finish the road that connects Restelica with the border with North Macedonia, with the municipalities of Mavrova and Gostivar there,” said Prime Minister Kurti.

He said that this morning with the minister, Nenad Rashiq, they were together in Ferizaj, for the laying of the foundation stone of the house of a Goran family from Dragashi, which has 11 members, and is now being built.

Meanwhile, Minister Aliu said that today together with Prime Minister Kurti, colleagues and collaborators, they visited the works on the Plavë-Sharr road segment, roads that have already taken on a new dynamic in the development of works. He indicated that this road is divided into two Lots, Lot 1: Zhur – Dragash and Lot 2: Dragash – Brod, with a total value of: 7,731,053.31 EUR.
The works are about 70% complete so far, and it is expected to be fully open and accessible to all motorists by next year.

During his visit to the Municipality of Dragash, the Prime Minister had a meeting with the Chairman of the Municipal Assembly, Uran Halimi, and representatives of the municipality.

Dragashi is the municipality with the highest percentage of non-majority communities, about 41%.
Meanwhile, the Ministry for Communities and Return has helped this municipality through various calls for communities, where 3 million euros have been allocated to farmers and small producers, to NGOs that help in the employment of communities and for jobs in new businesses and existing ones.

Call from the Office of Community Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office for community-based media, for cultural activities for communities, as well as for NGO activities that help with employment. Also this year, 5 scholarships will be awarded for the Balkan studies program at the University of Pristina for students from non-majority communities, etc.

Prime Minister Kurti’s complete statement:

For the coexistence here, we must thank the citizens, we must also thank the mayor and we must thank all the political parties who cooperate and in this way enable the good life.

Dragashi needs more investments and therefore we are trying to make as much infrastructure as possible. We will also finish the road that connects Restelica with the border with North Macedonia, with the municipalities of Mavrova and Gostivar there.

Meanwhile, this morning with my minister, Nenad Rashiq, I was together in Ferizaj, we built a house for a Goran family from Dragashi, which has 11 members. Poor family that is now building a house.
Now, Mr. Rakiq used to be my minister, now I have Nenad Rashiq as my minister. Nenad Rashiqi, is incomparably better, more hardworking and is also finding more and more support from not only Serbian citizens, in our country.

As for those names that I have mentioned in the plenary session of the Assembly of the Republic, I have mentioned 5 who have been arrested and our security bodies have identified 28 others, who participated in the organization, orchestration and sometimes even actively in violent attacks against NATO soldiers, against Kosovo policemen and against you journalists, as you may have seen yourself.

So, it is the rule of law, it is the processes of justice that will prove everything. But in the videos, the pictures have been seen by everyone. We don’t live in the 19th century, so that you don’t know what is happening in another country. In real time, a brutal violence of extremist elements who are both directed and paid by the official Belgrade has been followed.

And when the Serbian List abandoned the institutions on November 5 of last year, it made a cardinal mistake. Then they made the second mistake of boycotting the elections, then they called others to boycott the elections, and for these consecutive mistakes that are the result of wrong intentions, they should pay, not our Republic.
