Prime Minister Kurti received in a meeting the Minister of State for Europe and Climate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Anna Lührmann

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, welcomed the Minister of State for Europe and Climate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Anna Lührmann.

In this meeting, the second one after the meeting at the Security Conference in Munich in February of this year, Prime Minister Kurti and Minister of State, Lührmann spoke about the cooperation with Germany within the agenda of the Republic of Kosovo for European integration, for the Common Regional Market as part of the Berlin Process, Kosovo’s application to the Council of Europe, energy and the issue of visa liberalization for citizens of the Republic.

Prime Minister Kurti informed Minister Lührmann about the economic and democratic performance of the country in the last 18 months. He said that Foreign Direct Investments and exports are continuing the positive growth trend, while international reports such as Transparency International and Reporters Without Borders prove improvements in democratic indicators and are a reference that the image of the country is much better than it was. As regards the issue of visa liberalization, Prime Minister Kurti and Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked Germany for their help, support and their position that visa liberalization for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo should happen without any additional conditions.

They also spoke about energy as a matter of concern for the entire continent of Europe. In addition to the long-term plans for the energy transition and investments in renewable sources of electricity, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the importance of the full and rapid implementation of the energy roadmap agreed in Brussels, with which the Republic of Kosovo and subordinate institutions have fully complied by fulfilling the obligations they have met, and preparing to get through this winter.
