The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla Schwarz and the Deputy Ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo, Alyson Grunder paid tribute today and placed fresh flowers near the memorial plaque “Kosovo Remembers”, in the courtyard of the Government building, to commemorate and honor the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks that occurred in 2001 in the United States of America.

He said that today we remember the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and the lesson learned from this event with decisive echoes in history.

A total of 2,977 people died in the attacks of that day, including three Albanians: Mon Gjonbalaj, Simon Dedvukaj and Rrok Camaj.

At that time, the US administration of President George W. Bush had vowed that terrorism would never prevail. More than two decades since then, the United States of America continues to lead the global war against terrorism, while many countries, including the Republic of Kosovo, have aligned themselves in this common war.
