The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku and Deputy Minister Daulina Osmani, participated in the premiere of the film “Table” and the exhibition about the missing by the photographer Artan Korenica, in the Ethnological Museum of Kosovo.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked the Cinematographic Center of Kosovo for enabling the realization of this film, which, as he said, is so close to the real experience of mother Ferdonije.

“We know the case of mother Ferdonije whose four sons and husband were kidnapped, but it is impossible not to be shocked and saddened when you see mother Ferdonije personified in the film by our well-known and excellent actress Arta Muçaj, who could not possibly say more without a word said,” he said.

Prime Minister Kurti described mother Ferdonije as a woman who has been strengthened so much by pain that she gives strength to all of us.

“Today, March 8, on International Women’s Day, with a woman like mother Ferdonije, we show our history, our present, and at the same time, the power for the future, which has its source precisely in women like mother Ferdonije”. he says.

Complete speech of Prime Minister Kurti:

Both the exhibition and the 12-minute film were very shocking and very beautiful. We know the case of mother Ferdonije, whose four sons and husband were kidnapped, but it is impossible not to be shocked and sad when you see mother Ferdonije personified in the film by our well-known and excellent actress Arta Muçaj, who could not possibly say more without a word said.

So, when we add to this the table with six plates in total, where one is mother Ferdonije and the rest of us together with Minister Çeku and Arta Muçaj took the places of her sons and her husband, there was a scene that is unrepeatable and I am very grateful to the Cinematographic Center of Kosovo for enabling the realization of this film, which is so close to the true daily experience of mother Ferdonije, of a woman who has been so strengthened by pain that it gives power to all the rest of us.

Today, March 8, on International Women’s Day, with a woman like mother Ferdonije, we show our history, our present, and at the same time the power for the future, which has its source precisely in women like mother Ferdonije.
