Prime Minister Kurti met with representatives of the Croatian community in Kosovo

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with representatives from the Croatian community in Kosovo, accompanied by the third deputy prime minister, Emilija Rexhepi.

Also present were the ambassador of Croatia in Kosovo, Danijela Barisic, and the Croatian representatives in the Consultative Council of Communities near the Presidency, Josip Cirimotic and Silvana Palic.

The topic of discussion was the Government’s cooperation with the community and getting to know their needs more deeply.
There was talk of the Government’s engagement with the community during the year, where the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction in participating in the Christmas Mass in the Church of Janjeva, as well as the participation of members of the government cabinet in the celebration of the 720th anniversary of the Church in Janjeva earlier in the year.

Also, the help given to our citizens from Janjeva, selected by the commission for grants from the Office for Community Affairs, and the work of the Government for the full implementation of the law on the use of languages, so that non-majority communities have access, were also discussed in communications from the government.

Representatives of the Croatian community have thanked the Prime Minister for the opportunity to discuss their challenges and the opportunity for cooperation. They singled out the need for infrastructural support in Janjevë. Prime Minister Kurti expressed his willingness to work on ensuring the best possible conditions for the Croatian community in Kosovo.
