The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met the American senators, Jeanne Shaheen, Pete Ricketts, Chris van Hollen and Chris Murphy.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between Kosovo and the United States of America were discussed. The Prime Minister said that for Kosovo, the United States of America is an irreplaceable ally and partner.

Among the topics discussed were the Central Bank Regulation, the lack of accountability for the September 24 terrorist and paramilitary attack by Serbia and the implementation of the Basic Agreement and its Annex.

Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that the regulation does not ban the dinar, but foresees the euro currency as the only means of payment in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force and at the same time increases financial transparency and reduces the possibilities of financing criminal activities.

In addition, he informed them of the transitional period focused on more intensive public information and facilitating the simplified implementation of the regulation. He mentioned the case of converting license plates into RKS plates, as an example of the readiness of the integration of Kosovo Serbs and good proof of the capacities of our institutions to enable and facilitate any process in its service.

Almost five months after the terrorist and paramilitary attack in Banjska of Zvecan, the perpetrators are still free in Serbia. On this fact, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the need for accountability from Serbia, a concern that was also shared by the senators at the meeting.
