Prime Minister Kurti met the German Minister of Food and Agriculture, Cem Özdemir

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted in the Government building for a bilateral meeting the German Minister of Food and Agriculture, Cem Özdemir, who was accompanied by his staff and the German ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo, Jörn Rohde.

Prime Minister Kurti expressed gratitude for the visit of Minister Özdemir and for the continuous support of the Federal Republic of Germany for Kosovo. He especially thanked Germany for the important role of the German Bundeswehr army in KFOR.

During the meeting, bilateral diplomatic and economic relations were discussed, as well as the positive influence of the Kosovo diaspora in Germany.

German Minister Özdemir expressed his happiness that he is finally visiting Prishtina and thanked Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Peci for their hospitality, cooperation and excellent bilateral relations. He congratulated the government for the reforms undertaken, with emphasis on those in the field of agriculture and rural development, through which Kosovo has proven its commitment to membership in the European Union.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister also informed Minister Özdemir about the political developments in the country, the terrorist attack of September 24, the investigations surrounding it, the facts that testify to the connection and direct involvement of the State of Serbia and the professional work of the Kosovo Police.

The German minister also expressed his gratitude for the professional work of the Police, who also expressed his condolences for the police officer who fell in the line of duty, Afrim Bunjaku, on the day of the terrorist attack.

The Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany, Cem Özdemir, spent the whole day today on an official visit to the country. He had previously held a meeting with his counterpart, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci, who together with the Deputy Minister Imri Demelezi and the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, Luan Dalipi, were also present at the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office.
