After meeting with Lord Stuart Peach, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, also met with the Special Representative of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue and other regional issues of the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajcak.
They discussed the process of the dialogue and the significance of full implementation without conditions of the Basic Agreement and its Annex.
The Prime Minister said, in light of the speech by the President of the European Council on the integration of the Western Balkans in the European Union until 2030, it is important to advance towards full normalization with mutual recognition.
Regarding the situation in the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, the Prime Minister reminded that we now have a de-escalated situation which should not be re-escalated. Kosovo is already working on secondary legislation for early elections, which should lead to an open campaign, one without intimidation and blackmail, followed by free and democratic elections.
With Lajcak, the Prime Minister also discussed the possibilities for a next high-level meeting in Brussels during September.
