Prime Minister Kurti met the deputy mayors of North Mitrovica, Zveçan and Leposaviq

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with the deputy mayor of the Municipality of North Mitrovica, Katarina Adjančić, the vice-mayor of the Municipality of Zveçan, Natasa Tomanić, and the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Leposaviq, Marina Bogojević, who participated virtually.

At the meeting, the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, and the Prime Minister’s adviser on Community Affairs, Elizabeth Gowing, were present at the meeting.
They talked about the current situation in the four municipalities in the north of the country and about the latest developments in relations with our northern neighbor, with emphasis on yesterday’s actions regarding the detention of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo at the border points and public threats by the President of Serbia .

Special attention during the meeting was also given to the opportunities for the intensification of investments and infrastructure projects in these municipalities, practical measures that can facilitate employment, such as the employment measure for 2000 residents of the municipalities of North Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zveçan and Zubin Potok, which was launched in February this year, and the population census process. For the latter, the prime minister emphasized the importance of this process and the direct impact that participation in this process has on the fair allocation of the budget for municipalities and the strategic planning of policies and projects.

Another topic of conversation was the vote for the dismissal or not of the mayors, which will be held on April 21, and the work of our institutions regarding the organization of this democratic process, which was initiated by the signatures of the citizens of these municipalities.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked the vice presidents for their commitment and the work they are doing, and offered continued cooperation in serving the demands and needs of the citizens they represent and the municipalities they govern.
