Suhareke, 17 March, 2024

On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, tonight joined the elderly for iftar at the Home for the Elderly, in Gjinoc, Suhareka Municipality.
The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction that he was there tonight, wishing all those who are fasting, an easy fast, with the wish that God will give them strength, faith, hope and well-being.

“This is a month when we return to spiritual values, when we increase solidarity with each other and for each other, and with faith in our hearts and spiritual devotion we help others and ourselves, for peace of mind and for faith in the future in God and also in the love for people, which is necessary for a good and dignified life”, said the Prime Minister.

As he appreciated their contribution to society, to their families, he said that it is necessary that now we try to be close to the elderly for their health and well-being needs.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also thanked the benefactor Mr. Halil Kastrati for the work he is doing.

In the book of impressions, the Prime Minister added that it was a pleasure to witness and experience the kindness of this home for the elderly, with professional care and human generosity.
At this iftar, the Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Hysen Durmishi as well as MPs Besim Muzaqi, Nijazi Isaku and Jetmire Vrenezi.

Prime Minister Kurti’s complete speech:

Dear ladies and gentlemen, sisters and brothers,
The honorable Mr. Halil Kastrati,

It is my honor and pleasure to be with you here tonight.

To all of you who are fasting, I wish you an easy fast in this holy month of Ramadan, and may God give you strength, faith, hope and well-being, both individually and collectively here in this honorable house, but also for the families, friends and lovers that you have.

This is a month when we return to spiritual values. When we increase solidarity with each other and for each other, and with faith in our hearts and spiritual devotion we help others and ourselves, for peace of mind and for faith in the future in God and also in love for people, which is necessary for a good and dignified life.

I know that each and every one of you has contributed to society, you have contributed to your families, and it is imperative that now we try, however little, to give this back to them in your old age, so that for all your health and well-being needs to be here by your side. On this occasion, I also thank Mr. Halil Kastrati for all the work he is doing not only in this house here in Suhareka, but all over Kosovo, because there are several other similar houses.

I have in mind that your life is full of experiences and memories, which you have the kindness to share with each other and with each other, but we are also interested in this since the contribution you have made in the past and the knowledge that you have to this day is very valuable both for our identity, for who we are and where we come from, but also for the lessons we must learn to move forward as best, straightest and fastest.

Once again a light fast, may God bless you and I wish you all the best in life and good health.

Thank you!
