Prime Minister Kurti hosted the Presidency and the Secretariat of the Consultative Council for Communities

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the Presidency and the Secretariat of the Consultative Council for Communities within the Office of the President.

With the chairman Agim Ferati and the vice-chairmen Sevim Baki Bërveniku and Bajram Ilazi, the main challenges faced by the non-majority communities in Kosovo were discussed.

This year, the government created the Inter-institutional Team for the Promotion of Employment of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Communities. On this occasion, the meeting also discussed the employment, engagement and advancement of these communities within government institutions.

Among other things, the importance of the implementation of the Law on the Use of Official Languages in Kosovo was emphasized, but also the work of the Government and the steps taken so far for the Translation and Harmonization Unit within the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Presidency and the Secretariat of the Council expressed their thanks to Prime Minister Kurti for increasing the cooperation between the Government and the Consultative Council for Communities, while Prime Minister Kurti congratulated the Council for the new mandate. Furthermore, the prime minister expressed his readiness for even closer cooperation, through his three representatives in this Council, Slavisa Mladenović, the Commissioner for Language and his two political advisers, Elizabeth Gowing and Nurije Shala, who were also at today’s meeting.
