Prime Minister Kurti hosted the Dutch Ambassador for Human Rights, Wim Geerts

The importance of human rights and dignity, their protection and promotion, were in focus in today’s meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the Ambassador of the Netherlands for Human Rights, Wim Geerts.

Reiterating the continuous support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the Republic of Kosovo, Ambassador Geerts said that his visit is a continuation of the visit of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, in July last year. He appreciated the progress that Kosovo has made in recent years.

They talked about joint commitment to good governance, social cohesion and the rights of non-majority communities. Talking about the journey of the Republic of Kosovo for membership in the Council of Europe, Ambassador Geerts expressed the support of the Netherlands.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked the ambassador for the continuous support for Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, for integration into the European Union and for the liberalization of visas. He emphasized the commitment of the Republic of Kosovo for membership in the Council of Europe.

In the joint meeting with the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo, Carin Lobbezoo, the willingness and readiness to deepen and expand the good relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Kingdom of the Netherlands was reiterated.
