Prime Minister Kurti hosted the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of Turkey, Fuat Oktay

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Arbëresha Kryeziu Hyseni and the MP of the Assembly of Kosovo from the ranks of the Turkish community in Kosovo , Enis Kervan, received today in the premises of The Office of Prime Minister a delegation of deputies from Turkey, led by the Chairman of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Fuat Oktay.

Welcoming him, Prime Minister Kurti said that frequent visits are a sign of friendship between our two countries and close relations, while he congratulated Mr. Oktay for successfully completing his term as Vice President of Turkey.

At the same time, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his and the people of Kosovo’s gratitiude to the Republic of Turkey for their support in joining the Council of Europe, while they also discussed the cooperation of both countries in the field of defense and security, as well as the immediate need for Kosovo’s membership in the Partnership for Peace Program, towards full membership in NATO.

For his part, the Chairman of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Fuat Oktay, while thanking the Prime Minister for the hospitality, said that it is a good feeling that he is visiting Kosovo.
He emphasized that Turkey supports the independence and sovereignty of Kosovo, supports Kosovo’s membership in Euro-Atlantic structures and underlined that Prime Minister Kurti’s visit to Turkey in February of this year has intensified relations between the two countries. Further, as he expressed his interest in bilateral investments, Mr. Oktay highlighted that Turkey is present with many companies in Kosovo and in many sectors. He also offered cooperation on the issue of archives, which was welcomed by Prime Minister Kurti.

Also, the Chairman of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Fuat Oktay said that Turkey condemns the terrible attack on Kosovo on September 24 of this year against the Kosovo Police, in Banjska of Zveçan.

They also discussed the growing economic cooperation and the new opportunities for both countries from this cooperation.
