The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the Board of Trepça Sh.A., chaired by Bahri Hyseni and the Deputy Chief Executive of Trepça Sh.A., Enis Abdurrahmani, to discuss the work so far and the next steps.
With an average salary of 805 euros for miners, Trepça is among the key employers in the areas where it operates. Recently, in addition to starting the payment of workers’ pension contributions for the first time in many years, within the framework of the work practice scheme, Trepça has engaged 210 employees and soon plans to open new positions to refresh the workforce.

During 2022, Trepça has managed to reduce expenses, increase revenues and increase capital investments from its own budget. Salary expenses and operating expenses have decreased by 9% and 18%, respectively, revenues from the sale of lead and zinc concentrate have increased by 23%, while capital investments from the own budget for 2022 have increased by 20%.

Thanks to a careful plan, the company has saved over 1800 MWh of energy this year compared to the previous period, although it has faced the increased price of the international energy market.

For a sustainable recovery as an enterprise, Trepça is planning the next steps with the support of the Government, such as the sale of waste worth tens of millions of euros and capital investments in modern and efficient technology, which enable the best use of energy and ore and protect the environment at the same time.

The Prime Minister emphasized his commitment to Trepca and the miners and pledged further and continuous support of the Government.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli and the Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku.
