The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the Special Envoy of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach.

Developments in the region, with an emphasis on the rule of law and security, were a topic of discussion and of common interest. In this regard, the Prime Minister emphasized that legality and security go together.

The meeting also discussed the security of Kosovo. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the security of the border with Serbia, from where the aggression towards Kosovo comes from, as was proven in September of last year.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Kurti also shared with Lord Peach his reflections on the visit he had to the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as the meetings in Northern Ireland at the end of February this year.

He thanked Lord Stuart Peach for the United Kingdom’s continued support to the Republic of Kosovo and cooperation in the field of defense and its active role in the field of security.

We stipulate that in response to the terrorist and paramilitary attack on September 24 last year in Banjska, in October of last year the United Kingdom decided to deploy 200 additional soldiers from the Royal Regiment of the First Battalion of the Princess of Wales, which joined the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR.
