The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, hosted in a meeting the Albanian MP in the Serbian Assembly and the Head of the Democratic Action Party (Partia e Veprimit Demokratik), Mr. Shaip Kamberi, the former mayor of the Municipality of Preshevo, Mrs. Ardita Sinani and the mayor of the Municipality of Bujanoc, Mr. Nagip Arifi.
Prime Minister Kurti congratulated Mr. Kamberi for the election as MP in the Assembly of Serbia, after many obstacles and challenges with the repetition of the elections in the polling station in the village of Ternoc of Bujanoc. He expressed the belief that Mr. Kamberi, as in the past mandates, will continue to represent the Albanians with dignity and that he will have the continuous support from him personally, but also from the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
MP Shaip Kamberi expressed his gratitude and thanked Prime Minister Kurti for the continuous public support he has given to his persistence for representation and the concrete support he is giving to Albanians in Medvegja, Preshevo and Bujanoc. In particular, he thanked him for the decision at the last meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to allocate 255 thousand euros for the provision of textbooks for the Albanian students of these three municipalities.
Discussing the situation of Albanians in general in the three municipalities, Medvegja, Preshevo and Bujanoc, and the discriminatory and oppressive policies of Serbia, the prime minister said that cooperation and fair alignment towards the protection and advancement of the rights of Albanians is not only a need, but necessity of the time. Therefore, he demanded even greater coordination and commitment, determination and preservation of the political unity of the Albanian political entities.
Today’s meeting is in the continuation of the meetings that Prime Minister Kurti holds with the representatives of the Albanians of Preshevo, Medvegja and Bujanoc, for the maintenance of good relations and cooperation for the advancement of the rights of the Albanians.
