He emphasized that the Government of Kosovo does not contribute at all to the escalation and that the Police of Kosovo only enforces the law and takes care of public safety. Likewise, Prime Minister Kurti confirmed that the Kosovo Police stationed in municipal buildings have not undertaken operations in the vicinity of those buildings.

Regarding the way forward, Prime Minister Kurti said that Article 72 of the Law on Local Self-Government clearly shows the way for early elections in municipalities and that the Government strictly supports the legal procedures. Meanwhile, as far as the normalization of relations with Serbia is concerned, the guarantee is the full and unconditional implementation of the Basic Agreement which brings good neighborhood and European relations for the two countries.
