Justice reform, with an emphasis on vetting the justice system, is a priority of the Government and the state, emphasized the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo in the meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca.

After intensive work and after consultations with the parliamentary groups, Prime Minister Kurti, together with the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, submitted to the Assembly the file of documents for the vetting.

The submitted version of the draft constitutional amendments is in full compliance with the recommendations issued by the Opinion of the Venice Commission, while the package also includes a devised plan for legal changes, which must be implemented together, after the approval of the constitutional amendments or parallel to them.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the justice reform enables the return of citizens’ trust in justice and the fight against organized crime and corruption, as well as other negative phenomena. While vetting enables only those who have high moral and professional integrity, and who can justify their wealth, to be in the justice system.

It was reiterated that the Assembly of Kosovo will have the full support of the Government and that together they will overcome every challenge with responsibility and professionalism.
