The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bardhyl Dobra, and the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Information Technology, Lulëzon Jagxhiu, represented the Republic of Kosovo at the high-level conference on cyber security, organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) in cooperation with the European Commission, which was held in Brussels.

Deputy Minister Dobra was part of the ministerial panel of the countries of the Western Balkans, where the progress, challenges and needs in achieving a sustainable cyber space were discussed. He emphasized the intentions of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for large-scale digitization and the commitment that such digitization takes place in a safe cyber space. In this aspect, he noted that the Republic of Kosovo has approved the new law on cyber security, which provides for the establishment of the Agency for Cyber Security, and has finalized the cyber security strategy that is in the process of approval.

Cyber space knows no borders, and cyber-attacks can easily spread from one country to another, therefore Deputy Minister Dobra expressed our country’s continued readiness for cooperation and exchange of experiences with friendly countries in the field of cyber security.

Councilor Jagxhiu participated in the panel “Society-wide approach to strengthening cyber security in the Western Balkans”. He emphasized the importance of the joint commitment of all actors, including the government, the private sector and academia in raising the country’s cyber resilience. Jagxhiu singled out the creation of the comprehensive working group for cyber security in critical infrastructure as a good example of cooperation and knowledge exchange within the national cyber security ecosystem.
