The First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, welcomed the Regional Director of the World Bank for the Western Balkans, Europe and Central Asia, Xiaoqing Yu, who was accompanied by the Director of the World Bank office for Kosovo and Macedonia North, Massimiliano Paolucci.
At the meeting, they talked about the progress of various processes, where the advancement towards SEPA integration was mentioned among others.
Appreciating the cooperation with the World Bank, the deputy prime minister emphasized the importance of support for existing and potential projects where the contribution can be inherent and important. He singled out the Trade and Transport Program, which is expected to improve infrastructure and procedures at border crossings, as well as increase the capacities and competitiveness of local products, with investments in testing laboratories and beyond.
The connection of Kosovo with the wider region and the establishment and improvement of infrastructure, as a catalyst for more development and facilitation of transport, were also discussed.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the representatives of the World Bank for the conversation, as well as the continuous and fruitful cooperation.
