During his stay in Athens, the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, was invited to the New York College in Athens, where he lectured and talked with students. Also present were ambassadors and diplomatic representatives in Greece, from the region and beyond.

During his introductory speech, the deputy prime minister spoke about the economic situation in the country, the steps and policies undertaken by the government, as well as our journey towards European integration. Among other things, he mentioned the rate of employment growth in the last three years, our initiatives such as the Superpuna platform, the formalization of the economy, the positive macroeconomic indicators, as well as underlining that all this growth has come beyond the barriers that the country has faced.

Further, he emphasized that it is important to ensure that this economic growth is sustainable and inclusive. He mentioned the achievement of visa liberalization and the application for membership in the European Union in December 2022, shortly after receiving the Country Report, which in that year turned out to be the best ever for Kosovo, and with marked progress in the implementation of reforms.

After his speech, he engaged in discussions with the participants and questions addressed by students and diplomatic representatives, on issues such as foreign investments in the country, priority sectors for investment, but also the path to the European Union and the dialogue process.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi sincerely thanked all the participants for their questions and curiosities around our country and the interest shown to know more about the situation in the country, the challenges that Kosovo faces and the objectives for the future.
