Prishtina, 21 February 2023

Yesterday, the first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, met with representatives of the Economic Chamber of North-Western Macedonia (OEMVP).

The meeting discussed the possibilities of coordinating and moving forward projects with common benefits, which build solid bridges of cooperation.

The representatives of OEMVP emphasized their support to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. They added that they see the Berlin Process as a proper protection mechanism for their products.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that the Government has made it clear through its decisions what is the positioning of Kosovo in the region and how we see our role. He mentioned the decision during the Kurti I Government to allocate 10,000 euros for the reconstruction of the burnt school in Dacaj-Rozhaje, the allocation of 500,000 euros for the Presheva Valley, as financial support for coping with the situation created by the pandemic, up to 2 million euros allocated from the budget as support for the Valley during 2022.

Aspects were expressed in which we can work together to alleviate the problems faced by Albanian businesses there, such as human resources, new staff, workforce and the labor market. Therefore, it is important to preserve the market, eliminate bureaucratic barriers and strengthen the economic connection.

The work will continue to intensify cooperation, where there are positive signals considering the increase in export and import during the past year between the two countries. The construction of roads and joint industrial and economic areas remain a priority in order to deepen cooperation and rapprochement between us.
