The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, hosted the Rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon, in a meeting during the day.
At the beginning of the meeting, gratitude was expressed for the work of Mrs. Cramon in the European Parliament and continued support for Kosovo, especially in visa liberalization, membership in the Council of Europe and the EU. The last published reports, such as the one of the EP for Kosovo, contained positive messages for the country and evaluations in European integration, economy, finance, legislative agenda and education among many other areas involved.
The support that comes from the European Parliament is invaluable for Kosovo’s European journey, which goes in parallel with the vision of our country towards the EU and the support of the citizens of Kosovo towards EU integration.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized that our institutions are mature, ready and prepared to contribute positively to the fulfillment of the necessary steps within the process of integration and further advancement in the process.
Regarding the situation in the north, it was reiterated that it is important for the elected mayors to start providing services to citizens as soon as possible. As mayors of municipalities, they can exercise their responsibilities only from the buildings of the municipality, from where they serve the interests of every citizen without distinction.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi informed Ms. Cramon also about the dialogue process and the last meeting held in Brussels on 15th May.
