Yesterday, the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, hosted the delegation of the European Economic and Social Committee, headed by Dimitris Dimitriadis, director of the Foreign Relations office.
This meeting was productive and valuable in the context of the discussion on Kosovo’s European agenda, social dialogue in the country, developments and space for civil society and workers’ rights, areas in which the Government was congratulated by the delegation for the reforms undertaken, the progress and the work developed.
They were impressed with the legal framework and the integrated mechanisms regarding public consultations, including those at the local level.
It was also discussed about the mechanisms for supporting the employment of young people through schemes such as “Superpuna”, employment of women and other schemes of support from the Government.
The improvement of financial support for NGOs was mentioned as a common objective, where our partners can also contribute, especially now that we have a strengthened framework for support from public funds, singling out initiatives for financing youth organizations and projects and for young people and also those in the field of culture.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi also spoke about the European integration of the country and the processes that the Republic of Kosovo is going through in its journey towards the European Union.
