The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, visited the company “Mercom” this afternoon.
During the visit, he was closely acquainted with the company’s activities, where he was welcomed by the owner Arif Elshani, the company’s management director and staff. Thanking them for the warm hospitality, the acting Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that the private sector is the main employer of employment and an extraordinary contributor to the state budget every year, for which he expressed his gratitude for all the work, commitment and contribution.
“Mercom” in its beginnings only offered the sale of construction materials. Over the years, the company has expanded its activities into many sectors, including the production of high-pressure laminate (HPL), ventilated facades, construction, production of high-quality doors and windows, and automotive.
From 2005 to 2008, “Mercom” has been an authorized dealer of SKODA AUTO. Since 2009, it has been the sole importer of new cars and the authorized distributor of cars of the world-renowned brand PEUGEOT. Since 2020, it has also been an authorized dealer of MITSUBISHI. In 2022, it founded “EL TAXI”, a taxi company that uses only electric vehicles, thus contributing to a cleaner environment and providing reliable transport services.
The “Mercom” company is a beneficiary of grants from the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, namely KIESA, of the Innovation Grants Scheme. Also, through support from MINT\KIESA, it has participated in international fairs such as Swissbau Compact 2022 in Switzerland and the IMM 2023 fair in Germany, promoting their products in the European market.
