The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, and the deputy of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Haxhi Avdyli, accompanied by the Director of the ShSKUK, Elvir Azizi, participated in the inauguration of the renovations of the Emergency Clinic in KKUK.
Of the investments, the cost of which reached the amount of around 800 thousand euros, Prime Minister Kurti stated that today it seems that it is not possible to recognize the Emergency Clinic due to the radical transformation it has experienced internally.
“We have the triage, the space for triage, we have reorganization of the counter, we have sanitary joints and bathrooms arranged and also the increase in the number of beds from 20 to 25”, he said.
In his speech, the Prime Minister explained that already with the renovations done, medicine and telemedicine are integrated into one, thanks to the cameras that enable monitoring of operations in real time.
“In the operating room we saw that there are also cameras in the lighting, which means that the operation can be followed in real time from a console of doctors and surgeons located outside the University Clinical Center, in this way medicine and telemedicine are integrated in one, as are the pleasant and professional lighting with the camera which follows in real time the operation of the patient or the accident victim”, declared Prime Minister Kurti.
Among other things, he added that the patients in the Emergency Clinic will have the maximum chances for recovery and rescue, because we have dedicated doctors and nurses with dignified and modern working conditions.
“This investment in the University Clinical Center of Kosovo is a kind of our gratitude for the professionalism and devotion of this staff over many, many years in conditions in which they have been against them and not at their service”, concluded the Prime Minister, thanking health personnel.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, said that we are going through these investments and processes not only in KKUK, but also with investments in regional hospitals, with the selection of the family doctor that is now being done in primary medicine, and with the raising of the budget for drugs both in primary and secondary and tertiary, as well as in function of health insurance.
Pronunciation of Prime Minister Kurti:
We are here at the Emergency Clinic of the University Clinical Center where we came to visit together with the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia and the MP Haxhi Avdyli, both doctors as well, who know this clinic well, but this clinic is also known by many citizens who either themselves or their relatives, have been forced in cases of acute diseases or various accidents to come urgently, but today it seems that it is not possible to recognize this Clinic because of the radical transformation it has experienced internally.
We all know that for doctors who heal and for patients who seek healing, the conditions of work and healing inside are much more important than the external appearance, and that is exactly what we are investing about 800 thousand euros in the Emergency Clinic in which case I thank the economic operator who completed a job that should have been completed in less than 5 months in just three months. We have the triage, the space for triage, we have the reorganization of the counter, we have the sanitary units and the bathrooms adjusted and also the increase in the number of beds from 20 to 25.
Earlier, the doctors and nurses who were in the Emergency Clinic did not have to deal only with urgent cases of illness or accidents, of bleeding and of the last minutes of the life of the person who is not known whether he will survive or not, but it is they had to face the difficult working conditions, they had to face the great difficulties to save the patient.
Meanwhile, now the working conditions are on their side, so when you go to these rooms, these operating rooms, these places for patients, accident victims, you understand that everything is a function of the work of the doctor and nurses for healing or even saving patients. And this is very good news for our state, it is very good news for all patients.
We discussed with humour with doctors that good conditions are not an invitation to come here, however much we have adjusted the conditions we hope that less and less people will need to come here, but if they are forced to come here , then they will have the maximum chances for recovery and rescue because we have dedicated doctors and nurses and we have their dignified and modern working conditions.
In the operating room, we saw that there are also cameras in the lighting, which means that the operation can be followed in real time from a console of doctors and surgeons located outside the University Clinical Center, in this way medicine and telemedicine are integrated in one, as are the pleasant and professional lighting with the camera which follows in real time the operation of the patient or the accident victim.
I thank everyone for the great contribution and commitment they make every day and let it be understood that this investment in the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, more specifically in the Emergency Clinic, which will soon in this decade, in a few years, also have the country the special one that will be built here within KKUK, is a kind of our gratitude for the professionalism and devotion of this staff over many, many years in conditions in which they have been against them and not at their service. So thank you very much for all the work and commitment and many years of contribution.
