The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti together with the Mayor of the Municipality of Kamenica, Kadri Rahimaj, visited the crossing border with Serbia between the Municipality of Kamenica and that of Medvegja.

The Kapia crossing border was supposed to be operational within the framework of the Brussels Agreement on Integrated Border Management of December 2, 2011. Even today, over a decade later, Serbia prevents the implementation of this agreement by refusing to build the infrastructure for its police officers. Instead, it has blocked the road with stumps. This border without a crossing was also shared by the members of the same families from the village of Svercë who are forced to travel over 15km away to Mutivodë to cross to the other side.

There, Prime Minister Kurti was hosted and talked with Kosovo Police officers. He called for the implementation of the agreement on Integrated Border Management and the complete operationalization of the Kapia crossing border, which would enable free movement not only between the citizens of Kosovo and Serbia, but also of the residents within the village of Svirca, which has been divided into two.
