Precisely on the 15th anniversary of Independence, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti hosted the team of the Kosovo Association for Search and Rescue (SKKSSH) that operated for five consecutive days to assist the Turkish authorities in search and rescue operations after the devastating earthquake of February 6 in Turkey.

The SCKSH team informed Prime Minister Kurti about the team’s individual and team actions and experiences during the search and rescue operation in the Hataya location, one of the areas most affected and damaged by the earthquake.

During the days that the Kosovar search and rescue team operated in the Hataya area, they saved the lives of two girls, one 3 years old and the other 26 years old.
The Turkish authorities and other international teams have highly appreciated the professionalism and selflessness shown by the SKKSH team during the search and rescue operations.

Prime Minister Kurti congratulated the team for the work and success shown during the operation in Turkey and encouraged them to continue to cultivate the spirit of volunteerism, not only in the organization but also in society.

The Chairman of the Association, Mahir Hasani, thanked Prime Minister Kurti that, despite his commitments for the Independence Day, he found time to welcome and meet the team of the SCKSHK.

In this meeting, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by Colonel Ejup Maqedonci, a KSF officer with long experience in the field of search and rescue.

The Kosovo Association for Search and Rescue is a voluntary organization known for various search and rescue activities in support of Kosovo institutions. During their stay in Turkey, they cooperated closely with the KSF contingent there, which is continuing their commitment to help Turkish institutions.
