After the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of the Lower Primary Secondary School in Ponoshec, Gjakova, today, the foundation stone was also laid for the construction of the kindergarten in the Rezina district of this municipality, also an investment of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who participated in this ceremony, said that this project is very important, because all studies have shown that success in primary schools is directly related to the success that children have shown in preschool education, that is, kindergarten.
“Preschool education is crucial for further success in the education of children and young people,” he said.
The two-story facility, with a total of 1,400 square meters, is planned for 150 children. It will have seven rooms for daily stay for children, three bedrooms for children, the space for various purposes, the kitchen, the doctor’s room, the psychologist’s room, the administration and an additional technical space.
According to the contract, the completion time of this project is 24 months, while the value of the investment is around 759 thousand euros.
During the day, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, the Mayor of the Municipality of Gjakova, Ardian Gjini, as well as deputies of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
At the end of September, contracts were signed for the construction of five new kindergartens in Pristina, Gjilan, Miresh te Gjilan, Kamenica and Gjakovë, the foundation stone of which was laid today.
