Prime Minister Kurti was welcomed by the President of the Swiss National Council, Eric Nussbaumer

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was welcomed in Bern by the Chairman of the National Council of Switzerland, Eric Nussbaumer, together with MP Cedric Wermuth and the Swiss MP of Albanian origin, Islam Aliaj, who are part of the Kosovo-Switzerland Friendship Parliamentary Group.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the economic growth and democratic progress of our state in the last three years, highlighting the special attention to the energy sector. Regarding the latter, the Prime Minister informed Mr. Nussbaumer for the next competitive wind energy project of 150 MW, and the success of the first solar auction of 100 MW in which the “Orllati” consortium from our exile in Switzerland was declared the winner, together with companies from Germany and Kosovo.
Next, the prime minister emphasized the strong relations between our two countries and the possibility for further growth of trade exchange and deepening of economic cooperation, since bilateral exports and imports have increased significantly in the last four years.
Comprehensive government policies were also discussed, where the prime minister mentioned, among other things, scholarships for girls and women in STEM, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, support schemes for expectant mothers and children, the increase in the minimum wage, the increase in wages in the public sector and pensions, and work on linking the employment market with vocational training.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasized Kosovo’s steadfast commitment to membership in international organizations, where he also thanked the state of Switzerland for its continuous support.
