The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, and the Mayor of Podujeva Municipality, Shpejtim Bulliqi, laid the foundation stone for the Industrial Park in the village of Livadicë, Podujeva Municipality, representing an investment of €3.1 million.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at being in Podujevë to mark the commencement of works on the Livadicë Industrial Park.
“As a government, our aim is to transform Kosovo’s economy, strengthen domestic production, and create as many products as possible, both in variety and volume, under the ‘Made in Kosova’ label, so that we not only replace imports but also increase exports to European and international markets,” he said.
The Prime Minister also said that industrial parks are intended for domestic businesses that wish to expand and increase their capacities, for our citizens in the diaspora who wish to bring their capital and experience back to their homeland, as well as for foreign investors who see opportunities to relocate part of their production to the Republic of Kosovo.
The Prime Minister added that the launch of this investment in Podujevë represents a concrete step towards this vision, creating a new foundation for investment, production and economic development in this part of Kosovo.
“As a government, we will continue to invest in the development of the private sector and in creating better conditions for investment and production. Because this means more jobs, higher incomes for families and, above all, more opportunities for our young people,” said Acting Prime Minister Kurti.
The Acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, said that it is a strong fact that Kosovo’s economy has doubled since 2019, while the country’s services have reached €4 billion in exports, although the trade deficit in goods remains a challenge. Therefore, she said, it is extremely important for Kosovo to develop its industrial infrastructure and provide opportunities for employment and production in the Republic of Kosovo, adding that the Ministry is currently working on the activation of 16 industrial zones.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Podujevë Municipality, Shpejtim Bulliqi, said that it was a particular pleasure to lay the foundation stone today, marking the beginning of works on the Industrial Park in Podujevë, describing it as the most important economic project for the municipality and one welcomed by businesses, given that Podujevë has lacked such a project for many years.

Dear citizens of Podujevë,
It is my pleasure to be here with you today in Podujevë to mark the commencement of works on the Livadicë Industrial Park.

Industrial parks are intended for domestic businesses that wish to expand and increase their capacities, for our citizens in the diaspora who wish to bring their capital and experience back to their homeland, as well as for foreign investors who see opportunities to relocate part of their production to the Republic of Kosovo.
Kosovo offers a range of advantages for investors, starting with its young, skilled and competitive workforce, proximity to the European Union market, competitive operating costs, as well as a favorable fiscal policy.
Therefore, the launch of this investment in Podujevë represents a concrete step towards this vision, creating a new foundation for investment, production and economic development in this part of Kosovo.
I would like to thank the Mayor of the Municipality for the cooperation and the good work carried out together with the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation. Projects such as this require good coordination between the central and local levels, and the project we are launching today demonstrates that such cooperation can deliver concrete results.
As a government, we will continue to invest in the development of the private sector and in creating better conditions for investment and production. Because this means more jobs, higher incomes for families and, above all, more opportunities for our young people.
Today, we are launching the construction works, and I look forward to seeing this park soon become a new home for businesses.
