The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, last night attended the 25th jubilee edition of the International Short and Documentary Film Festival “DokuFest”.
Among many local and international artists, Prime Minister Kurti met with director Mark Cousins.
“The 20th century is: three world wars and cinema. Two hot wars and one cold war, and films. If the gaze of the mind over the gaze of the camera in the last century had André Bazin, the 21st century has Mark Cousins”, the Prime Minister wrote.
“The 15 episodes of “The Story of Film: An Odyssey” are a look at the history of film that will change your view of films and force you to watch some you’ve never heard of before. (And I couldn’t help but say that I was surprised he didn’t include “Bagdad Cafe” (1987)). Meanwhile, “Here Be Dragons” is his unique meditation on Albania, full of pain and love,” wrote Prime Minister Kurti, highlighting the work of director Cousins.
Among other things, Prime Minister Kurti wrote that for 25 years, “DokuFest” has been placed on a broader map of European festivals, giving new weight to the film industry in Kosovo and the region.
After joining the European Youth Card Association more than a year and a half ago, Prime Minister Kurti said that young people have the opportunity to receive tickets with a 30% discount.
