The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received in a meeting the Minister Delegate for Europe of the Republic of France, Benjamin Haddad, after the signing of four agreements and a declaration of intent between the two countries on Monday morning.
Welcoming him to the capital of the Republic, on the visit that comes as a continuation of the working lunch with President Emmanuel Macron on March 17 at the Elysee Palace and the joint commitment to strengthening relations between the two countries, Prime Minister Kurti thanked Minister Haddad for France’s continued support for Kosovo and its people.
Prime Minister Kurti said that the signing of the agreements and the declaration in the fields of sports, justice and education is an important step in deepening cooperation and further advancing the excellent relations between the two countries.
After mentioning the benefits of the administrative agreement for teaching French in Kosovo, the Prime Minister underlined the importance of France’s support in developing infrastructure and providing expertise in the preparations for organizing the 2030 Mediterranean Games in Kosovo. Meanwhile, he considered the agreements on extradition and mutual legal cooperation in criminal matters to be extremely important for the administration of justice and the fight against crime.
In addition to discussions on the potential and opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in other sectors, Prime Minister Kurti also spoke about the Euro-Atlantic integration processes and the importance of France’s support. Meanwhile, he mentioned sustainable economic growth, the rule of law, civil liberties and human rights, and democratic institutions.
