Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was hosted for dinner by the French Minister Delegate for Europe, Benjamin Haddad, at the French Residence in Prishtina, following the signing of five agreements between the two countries on Monday morning.
“In addition to being home to many members of our diaspora, France is an important partner, and increased meetings serve to explore opportunities and potential for expanding bilateral cooperation into other sectors, such as the economy, security, and defence, as well as Paris’s supportive role in the Euro-Atlantic integration processes,” wrote the Prime Minister, among other things, following the dinner.
As part of Minister Haddad’s visit, and as a continuation of the working lunch Prime Minister Albin Kurti held with President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace on 17 March, five instruments were signed between the Republic of Kosovo and the French Republic:
• The Extradition Agreement, which strengthens cooperation between the two countries in the field of justice and facilitates extradition procedures;
• The Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, which advances cooperation between our institutions in the administration of justice and the fight against crime;
• The Loan Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the French Development Agency, to support infrastructure investments as part of preparations for the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games;
• The Declaration of Intent on the Establishment of the France–Kosovo Committee, through which French experience and expertise will support the preparation and organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games; and
• The Administrative Agreement on the Teaching of the French Language in Kosovo, which aims to expand and strengthen French-language teaching and create new opportunities for educational and academic cooperation.
