St. Stefan, 21 October 2026
On the eve of the Berlin Process Summit, tonight in St. Stefan, Montenegro, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasised that, with fully functioning institutions, Kosovo would accelerate reforms. He said that last week the Assembly adopted the final law required for integration into SEPA, which will save citizens, businesses and the diaspora around €58 million annually. He added that negotiations on “Roam Like at Home” would begin soon, with a view to joining the zone without additional roaming charges.
“Our democratic progress, commitment to shared values, and alignment with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy must be reflected in concrete steps. The Commission’s proactive support for candidate country status and the opening of accession negotiations is important and necessary,” he said.
Within the Berlin Process, Kosovo has ratified all the agreements, including the agreement on the recognition of diplomas, which must be implemented by all parties, including our northern neighbour, Serbia.
