Complete statement by Prime Minister Kurti:

Dear Journalists,
Dear Citizens,

More than a month ago, we were at the inauguration of the renovation of the premises of the Institute of Pathological Anatomy and today we are here with you for an inauguration of another transformation in our healthcare system, at the Cardiology Clinic, at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.
This investment directly affects the lives and health of our citizens and facilitates the treatment of patients.

A space of about 400 square meters has been transformed according to modern hospital standards, creating better conditions for doctors, specialists, nurses and, above all, more dignified conditions for a full and faster recovery for our patients.

The functionalization of the modern Cath-Lab and the installation of the new angiograph constitute a major step forward in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

The investment amounts to approximately 1.5 million euros, while treatment capacities will increase significantly. From over 4,000 interventions per year, as it has been so far, the goals are to reach a capacity of up to 8,000 interventions per year. Of course, we hope that we will not need it, but if we do, we will have the capacity, and in addition, the waiting lists will be reduced.

The investment also includes important infrastructure improvements: the installation of a central air conditioning system, air purification and filters, and the equipment of rooms with bathrooms inside, raising the standard of treatment and well-being for patients.

We express our deep gratitude, special thanks to the Government and people of Luxembourg for their continued support for the health system and our country in general. Here, in addition to the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, then the Director of the Cardiology Clinic, Faik Shatri, the Director of the ShSKUK, Elvir Azizi, I am also with the Ambassador of Luxembourg, His Excellency Eric Dietz, and his colleague, who has come from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, on the occasion of this inauguration, for which we thank him heartily.

On the other hand, on April 8, the transformation of the semi-intensive cardiology unit also began, which demonstrates our commitment to the complete transformation of each clinic and each regional hospital and consequently of our public health system in general.

I also thank the doctors and healthcare staff who do extraordinary work, making an immeasurable contribution not only to saving lives, but also to healing patients and improving the quality of life for the citizens of our Republic.

Congratulations and best wishes to all, and thank you.
