In commemoration of the 18th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, as part of the state events marking this day, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the President of the country, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, and members of the government cabinet, paid homage initially at the Monument to the Missing, to continue with homage at the Memorial Plaque of the Murdered Children, commemorating the 1133 children killed during the war in Kosovo.
From there, homage was also paid to the grave of former President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova and the grave of the activist, Adem Demaçi, to continue with homage and laying of wreaths at the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex, in Prekaz, in honor and commemoration of the heroism of the Jashari family. After the homage in Prekaz, the heads of state also paid homage and honors at the “Heroinat” Monument, in Prishtina.
On this day, Prime Minister Kurti stated that we remember the resistance and sacrifice of the people and honor the fallen heroes and activists over the centuries, the peaceful resistance and the armed uprisings after World War II, which culminated in the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
