Together with the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, and the two deputy ministers in this ministry, Hysen Durmishi and Jeton Raka, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, inaugurated the Zhur-Brod road connecting the villages of Zhur-Dragash and Dragash-Brod, with a length of 42 kilometers and an investment value of nearly 7.9 million euros.
On the occasion of the inauguration, Prime Minister Kurti spoke about the importance of the functionalization of this road, which is very important for free circulation, the economy and tourism, adding that these beautiful areas should be visited by people from all over Kosovo.
He thanked the contractor and the workers as well as the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure for their work and commitment in finalizing the works of this important road not only for the residents of the area, but also for all citizens.
Minister Aliu said that this road is important for economic development, because it connects the country with Brod where mountain and winter and summer tourism is being developed and presents more opportunities for attracting domestic and foreign visitors. Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Durmishi highlighted that the section from Zhur to Dragash has three lanes, while the rest has two lanes. For the next year, he announced that a budget has already been provided with which the rehabilitation of the road from the center of Dragash to the exit of Dragash with a length of 2.4 kilometers will be carried out.
