The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Shtime, Qemajl Aliu, participated in the inauguration of the new Library of the Municipality of Shtime.

The launch of any knowledge facility is and must be a joyous occasion for us all. “Today, the inauguration of the new City Library building in Shtime is a festive occasion for education, culture, and the whole community of this city,” stated Prime Minister Kurti in his address at the event.

The Shtime Library, as a new and modern building that meets all the conditions and needs of readers, is also fully inventoried. Thanks to an investment of 629 thousand euros from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, this area has been established for a future with educated, well-read youth, and most importantly, active in civic engagement and community service, contributing to the development of a prosperous and progressive society.

Prime Minister Kurti stated that this project began many years ago but has faltered, stalled, and stagnated through bureaucratic, administrative, and various other procedures, and finally, it has now found solutions to all problems within a short time, and today we enjoy it completed as a much-needed building for the city of Shtime.

The library is a hub of passion and curiosity, of discipline and dedication, and the new library is a new place, a place for more passion and curiosity for even more disciplined and dedicated people for more knowledge and understanding. “The book remains a highly significant resource for both specialized knowledge and intellectual culture,” stated Prime Minister Kurti.

The Prime Minister invited all the citizens of Shtime to use this new facility as much as possible, and to keep it both active and accessible as a place from which the best discussions will begin, continuous studies will be maintained, and the smartest ideas of our shared consciousness will emerge.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Shtime, Qemajl Aliu, stated that today is a special day for our municipality because we are inaugurating an important facility that will positively impact the intellectual, cultural, and historical development in our municipality. “Precisely on the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the National Library, three days after the anniversary of the Congress of Manastir and three days before our national flag holiday on November 28th, we are gathered with great pride for the inauguration of the new building of the Library and Archives of the Municipality of Shtime, which will serve as a window of knowledge and a guardian of our collective memory,” he said.

Honorable intellectuals and education veterans,
Ladies and gentleman,
Sisters and brothers,

I am pleased to be here with you today to speak at such an important event for the municipality of Shtime and beyond. The launch of any knowledge facility is and must be a joyous occasion for us all. The opening of the doors of the new City Library building in Shtime today marks a festive day for education, culture, and the entire community of this city.

The new Shtime library, as a modern and new facility that fulfills all the requirements and needs of its readers, is also completely inventoried. Thanks to an investment of 629 thousand euros from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, this area has been established for a future with educated, well-read youth, and most importantly, active in civic engagement and community service, contributing to the development of a prosperous and progressive society. The project began several years back, facing delays and stagnation due to bureaucratic, administrative, and various procedural hurdles. Yet, we have now successfully addressed all challenges swiftly, and today we enjoy the completion of this essential building for the city of Shtime.

Therefore, it is extremely important to start good and positive work, but it is equally important that they proceed well and successfully and conclude well and successfully, because only a successful completion allows citizens to enjoy and benefit from government and state investments in general.

Honorable attendees,

The library is a hub of passion and curiosity, of discipline and dedication, and the new library is a new place, a place for more passion and curiosity for even more disciplined and dedicated people for more knowledge and understanding. The book remains a highly significant source of both specific knowledge and intellectual culture.

Only four weeks ago, the library of Shtime received a donation of 604 new titles from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, ensuring that the new shelves of this library are filled with new titles. This knowledge house is prepared to welcome readers, creators, researchers, and the numerous diligent students of this city. May this space serve beyond its main purpose of reading and sharing knowledge. However, it also serves as a community and cultural space for new initiatives that benefit active citizenship and social consolidation through the discussion of ideas and new innovations.

We will return to Pristina from here, heading to the National Library of Kosovo to commemorate the 80th anniversary of this institution. Today is a wonderful day for advancing knowledge, arts, and sciences, as well as our history and heritage; a new center of knowledge is being inaugurated, while another celebrates its 80th year of activity.

I invite all the citizens of Shtime to use this new facility as much as possible, and to keep it both active and accessible as a place where the best discussions will begin, continuous studies will be maintained, and the smartest ideas of our shared consciousness will emerge. The devotion to gaining knowledge, which fundamentally bestows upon us the liberty of being, ought to be the objective of our daily endeavors.

Thanks and may you enjoy the new library.
